Tomatoes are ready!
Our yellow tomatoes are ripe now, and the cherry tomatoes on deck are ripening too.

Today we had a busy day in the garden. We were harvesting, planting, watering, trimming, and weeding. We harvested the rest of our radishes and spinach as well as some lettuce, mesclun, and green onions. We planted some more lettuce, mesclun, and basil. We saw our first tomato today, not sure which variety it is though. I guess we’ll know soon enough. We can also see a bunch of strawberries and raspberries as well.
The tomatoes are spending some time outside now. Almost ready to be transplanted.
We’ve moved the tomatoes to individual pots so they can flourish. Still no sign of the peppers though.
Our tomatoes seem to be doing well. The peppers haven’t sprouted yet, but they’re supposed to take a little longer. We’ll see…
We started our tomato and pepper seeds indoors this past weekend in jiffy pots. This year we are hoping to foil the vegetable theives by planting unusual varieties of tomotoes: Taxi tomatoes (which are a light yellow colour) and Black Cherry. We are trying Jalapeno peppers for the first time. A few of our fellow Collingwood gardeners have had success with these.
The tomato plants on our deck on growing very tall and the tomatoes are starting to turn.
The cherry tomatoes on our deck are producing more and more fruit. We saw several more today. We also harvested the rest of our lettuce and some carrots and onions. We planted some more lettuce, hopefully they will be as successful as the last.
